I am Ply, the definition has been diluted over time, so sometimes we speak of "A Ply" when referring to a specific piece, whether illustrations, 3D models, or real recreations, we also speak of "Ply" to refer to ply as the concept, or an entity that encapsulates everything that represents ply. Or me, although precisely the name is Plynkz, yes it's weird.
The canonical shape of Ply is based on 2 "squashed squares" one on top of the other, the biggest, the top one, is green, the lower one is yellow, where the mouth is located, and the upper one contains the round eyes with a pupil, these figures are also extrapolated to its three-dimensional version, also the figures are flexible, the cubes can be curved and the spheres deformed, you can see examples at PLYMAGENES
The thing is that one time i wanted to make a real life ply with cardboard, the thing was to use it on the head so it was big, i decided to color it putting paper over the structure, cuz it looks coll and i didnt wanted to paint all that, i searched for references and notice that i drawn ply all those years (like 2017 to 2022) altering the color order, then i decided to use green on top beacause my green paper had better cuality and that color order was the original... speaking of original
Back then when my life was playing geometry dash during school break, i used as username a varian of a my name, but some day i decided to have a GAMER NAME so i though Plincs, in a totally random mind process, but i wanted to make it cooler so i changed the letter for some with same song but cool form, you know, so i came up with Plynkz, i used as profile pic my gd icon, it was one of the community shop made by Aruxd, i used green as main color cuz it is my fav color, and yellow as secondary beacause its near to green, later when i made my youtube channel i tell my friend to suscribe but they never understood how to write plynkz so i short it to Ply, the next year i got a new pc and it had paint 3d so i tried to make ply, and if you used paint3d you know its limited, so my ply end up as 2 cubes and 2 spheres (pupil and mouth were drawn over the mode) so thats how we have your good old ply
